Islamouth Letting Conditions 2025
- In the event of the tenant being unwilling or unable to fish the tenant is still liable for the full rent plus VAT (if applicable) and the agent reserves the right to recover all monies due, plus any further expenses incurred, from the original tenant. The proprietors shall not be bound to refund any rents paid in the event of cancellation for whatever reason. Should any tenant wish to try and re-let fishing this must only be done through the proprietor’s agent, Atholl Sporting. If a re-let is successful, a refund will be made less a charge equal to 10% of the value of the fishing re-let.
- The proprietors require tenants to adhere to the then current recommendations of the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board “TDSFB”, any variation of which from the point of let to date of fishing shall be deemed to be binding on tenants and no refund of monies paid will be considered as a result of the TDSFB changing its recommendations.
- The agent and proprietors let the rights of fishing only, and do not accept responsibility for the natural hazard and adverse climatic conditions out with their control affecting the catching of salmon. Please note that in line with general practice, we cannot give refunds for fishing spoilt by inclement weather, poor water conditions or in any other circumstances which could not reasonably have been foreseen or predicted or any circumstances that are out with the proprietor’s and agent’s control.
- The proprietors accept no responsibility for loss or damage to tenants or his party’s property from whatever cause arising nor for any injury to the tenant or any member of the fishing party. In the interests of safety, no alcohol should be offered or given to the ghillies during the fishing period.
- A tenant may not sub-let the beat, if a tenant so sub-lets all fishing so sub-let will be forfeit and cancelled without further discussion or refund.
- Life jackets must be always worn and can be supplied. Tenants who do not wear life jackets do so entirely at their own risk.
- Clients and guests are advised to wear and use their own personal protective equipment where appropriate. This should include chest waders, eye protection, wading stick and appropriate clothing.
- The lead named tenant is responsible for the fishing party at all times when fishing. Should the lead tenant not be present at any time a person must be nominated to take charge of the party.
- It is a condition that the minimum letting for the beat is three days for one rod and the proprietors expect, and the tenant agrees, that the same rod will fish each of the three days. Where the let is for more than one rod, each rod in attendance on the first day of the let must fish all three days. The proprietors do not allow rods to change daily unless there is an extraordinary reason for so doing.
- Rod sharing is not permitted except in exceptional circumstances and only with the prior approval of Atholl Sporting.
- The tenant is not permitted to hire or engage any additional guides, ghillies or boats other than those provided by the proprietor.
- The insurance cover in the fishing huts does not extend to the property of tenants. If you wish to leave your belongings it is at your own risk, and you are advised to ensure that you have adequate insurance cover for sports and other items when travelling. Clients are strongly advised to take out a Public Liability Policy, covering themselves and their guests, for not less than £5,000,000.
- The rent includes the services of three ghillies and two boats, shared among the let rods. The ghillies will be in attendance during the normal hours of fishing from 9.00 hours to 17.00 hours with a lunch break from 1.00pm – 2.00pm.
- Bank fishing only is permitted out with the normal hours of fishing and only with the prior agreement of the ghillies. Only those rods who fished during the day are permitted to fish on in the evening.
- No fishing is permitted beyond 8pm on a Wednesday evening.
- Any catches during these times must be reported to the ghillies.
- In the interests of safety, the ghillie’s decision on when it is not safe to take the boat out is final. Should any other dispute arise between the tenant and the ghillie, the agent must be informed as soon as possible and certainly before the expiry of the let. The agent can be contacted on 01250 883713
- Whilst dogs are welcome on the beat they must be always kept under close control and dogs are not allowed on the right (far) bank. Rods must clean up after their dogs.
